Field Leader Course
About the program: The Field Leader program is a revolutionary approach for training new leaders to lead in low risk terrain. Created and endorsed through the Outdoor Council of Canada, it is a powerful tool for empowering adult leaders to take children & youth outside for education & activity.
About the course: The Field Leader course is an intensive two-day experiential & inquiry based course introducing roles & responsibilities of the leader. Students discover the values & systems that promote high-quality low-risk programs.
Graduates can lead 1 day programs in defined low-risk & non-winter environments. Additional modules prepare leaders for winter & overnight trips. This course compliments our other offerings, such as Basic Outdoor & Survival Skills and Wilderness First Aid.
- 16 hours (Saturday + Sunday, 8:30-4:30pm)
